The BC Racing DS Series Coilover system is built with digressive valving, delivering all the advantages of the BR Type with a more track-focused setup. Its digressive piston produces a non-linear damping curve, offering increased low-speed damping to better control body roll during cornering, braking and acceleration.
At higher shaft speeds, the damping force decreases, allowing the wheel to absorb kerbs and bumps without transferring harsh impacts into the chassis, helping maintain balance and stability. The DS Series is the ideal choice for drivers seeking precise, track-oriented coilovers with enhanced handling performance.

DS Series overview
The BC Racing DS Series, formerly known as the DR Series, features digressive valving that adapts damping force based on shaft speed and road conditions. At higher speeds, the coilovers stiffen to minimize body roll during fast cornering, while at lower speeds or over bumps and potholes, they soften to maintain ride comfort and chassis stability.
This digressive behavior also provides additional suspension travel at low speeds, allowing the car to “roll” more naturally into corners. As a result, the DS Series is an excellent choice for autocross, track days, and for cars that occasionally face uneven surfaces. The adaptive damping helps maintain balance during cornering and acceleration, offering consistent performance across different driving scenarios.
Many enthusiasts compare the BR vs DS Series: if your primary goal is sharper track performance with better control on rough sections, the DS Series is the superior option. The only real reason to choose the BR instead of the DS is budget.
